What is RAD-140 (Testolone)?
RAD-140, also called Testolone, is a SARM. SARM stands for Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator, a lab-made compound that binds to certain receptors in muscle and bone tissue.
It is not a compound. Researchers first studied it for muscle loss and breast cancer research. Health Canada has not approved it for human use.
What researchers study it for
- Muscle tissue. Labs study how it binds to receptors in muscle and bone tissue.
- Selectivity. Studies compare how it acts on muscle tissue versus other organs like the liver.
- Half-life. Research shows a half-life of 16 to 20 hours, meaning once-daily dosing is used in study protocols.
- Hormone research. Scientists study its effects alongside testosterone in comparison research.
