What is Clenbuterol?

Clenbuterol, also called Clen, is a stimulant compound. It is a beta-2 agonist, meaning it activates certain receptors in cells. It was first made as a bronchodilator, a drug that opens up airways, for asthma research.

Researchers now study Clenbuterol for its effects on metabolism and body fat. Health Canada has not approved it for human use. It is sold here for lab research only.

• Metabolic rate. Studies look at how it raises core body temperature and energy use in cells.
• Fat breakdown. Labs study how it affects fat cells during research trials.
