What is this Sodium Chloride solution?
This is a 0.9% sodium chloride solution, also called saline. Sodium chloride is common table salt dissolved in water.
It is isotonic, meaning its salt level matches the level found in body fluid. It also contains a bacteriostatic agent and a preservative, which stop bacteria from growing inside the vial.
It comes as a sterile liquid in a sealed glass vial, made for lab use only.
What it is used for
Labs use this solution to mix, dilute, or rinse other liquids during research work. The bacteriostatic agent lets the same vial be used more than once without bacteria building up inside it.
Note: this is a lab supply, not a compound, so there is nothing to add under what researchers study it for.
What you get
One sealed glass vial of clear liquid. Each vial holds 30 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution.
How to store it
Keep the sealed vial at room temperature, away from sunlight. Once opened, keep it clean and use it within a reasonable time.
