What is TB-500?
TB-500 is a lab-made peptide based on a natural protein called Thymosin Beta-4.
Thymosin Beta-4 plays a role in cell movement and tissue studies. TB-500 works by changing levels of actin, a protein tied to cell structure and movement.
What researchers study it for
- Actin activity. Researchers study how it affects actin and cell movement.
- Blood vessel formation. Studies look at the growth of new blood vessels, known as angiogenesis.
- Cell migration. Labs study how it affects cell movement toward damaged tissue in models.
- Tendon and ligament tissue. Research looks at its effects on tendon and ligament cells.
- Inflammation markers. Some studies measure inflammation markers in lab models.
