What is RAD-140 (Testolone)?
RAD-140, also called Testolone, is a SARM (selective androgen receptor modulator), a lab-made compound that binds to certain receptors in muscle and bone tissue.
It is not testosterone or a related hormone, and it is not built like one. It was first studied in muscle loss and breast cancer research, and Health Canada has not approved it for human use.
What researchers study it for
- Muscle tissue. Labs study how it binds to receptors in muscle and bone tissue.
- Selectivity. Studies compare how it acts on muscle tissue versus other organs, such as the liver.
- Half-life. Research shows a half-life of 16 to 20 hours.
- Hormone research. Scientists compare its effects with those of testosterone.
